The Lamar Jackson Project

Lamar Jackson has now started four games for the Baltimore Ravens with a record of 3-1.

It has not been pretty, but he has gotten the job done. Much of the success of the Ravens has come from their stifling defense, but Jackson has done a superb job being able to manage the game and limit mistakes.

The run game has come alive with Jackson at the helm. The Ravens have rushed for close to 900 yards in the span of Jackson's starts. Jackson's ability to run the ball as well as pass it has confused opposing teams greatly.

The question that needs to be addressed in the coming days though, is who the starting quarterback will be once Joe Flacco is healthy and ready to return.

As a fan of the Ravens, my bias wants to say that Lamar will remain the starter. In the long term, it would be beneficial for Jackson to gain experience late in the season trying to push his team towards the playoffs. However, the unbiased part of me says that Joe Flacco should be the starter. He already has the experience of leading his team. Flacco, who was once the Super Bowl MVP, has not played at a very high level since that MVP performance. However, he already knows what it takes to manage the game in a proper way and make the playoff push.

I am not the biggest fan of Flacco, but this team needs to practice patience and allow Jackson to learn from the sideline.
